VIRTUAL CHARACTERS
OFFICIAL PART OF CONVENTION
All Planet is honored to be asked to join the historic 2000 Democratic
National Convention and to present their latest real-time animated
character, Mr. Brash Landau.
Brash, the world's first Virtual Newscaster, dates back to May of
1997. He and voice talent Sean O'Kane won a 1998 Joey Award
for one of their Newsroom Segments.
In March 2000, during a live newscast on All Planet TV, Brash
suddenly announced "I am throwing my hat in the ring, ladies
and gentlemen -- I'm running for President!"
Landau claimed two powerful reasons for his confidence in
being a serious candidate for president.
"I can be anybody you want me to be," he repeated in imitations
of everyone from Jimmy Stewart to John Wayne and Johnny
Carson to Jimmie Cagney.
His second strength is his unassailable intimacy with and
knowledge of the High Tech arts, Internet and Computers.
New developments in the "Brash Landau 2000" camp have
led to radical changes. While here at the convention, Brash
has publicly thrown in the towel, giving the nod to Al Gore
for the Presidential slot. Following his brief meeting with
candidate Gore, Brandau suddenly gushed enthusiastic
support for the new Democratic ticket.
Yet, all throughout the day Tuesday here at the Convention
Booth 20 on Internet Avenue
Brash has now been overheard claiming
"I am actively pursuing the VVP slot."
He is sharing the space with his cyber friend and associate
Virtual Mark Twain, performed by Gary Jesch of
Live Animation on one of his performance systems.
As of this writing, the candidate was unavailable for comment.
We can only assume that VVP means something like
"Vice-vice President".
Again this Wednesday morning, Landau's claims about
the VVP slot continue to be made -- and cause controversy.
Landau and Virtual Mark Twain are co-hosting with
MSNBC at the
democrats.com 'HUSH IN' event
(11am- 2pm at the Ground Floor Meeting Room of the
Bonaventure Hotel,
440 s Figueroa in Los Angeles)
Landau's camp has indicated that other surprise
announcement will follow the event through 4:30 pm.
Brash Landau was designed and produced by Gabreal Franklin
of All Planet Studios and runs on Gary Jesch's Chops & Associates
Live Animation digital puppeteering system. He is part of a family
of characters. The two companies have co-produced many
projects together.
The Brash landau character is performed by Mr. Sean O'Kane.
